Capital City Arts and Crafts Show

Ordinary Evelyn will be at the Capital City Arts and Crafts Show  Nov 19-21, 2011.   Come say hello and support a great fundraiser for the Kanawha City Lions Club!

Sponsored by the Kanawha City Lions Club, the CCAC features exhibits and demonstrations by more than 160 artisans from West Virginia and a dozen other states….artisans who have distinguished themselves with state and regional awards for their exceptional talents. Many of the crafts and arts are fashioned in the time-honored Appalachia tradition, while others are more contemporary in style and influence.

Since 1968, when the CCAC started, the show has grown in popularity, attracting nearly 15,000 people during the three days it is open. It’s also served as a magnet for artisans not only to offer their works but to develop their craftsmanship. Artisans from as far north as Maine, south in Florida, and west in California, have made the yearly trek to Charleston to be in the CCAC.

The Capital City Art & Craft Show is a shopper’s and visitor’s delight, offering a wide variety of one-of-a-kind originals. Whimsical. Practical. Decorative. Appropriate for gifts and use in the home or office.

In addition to the exhibits, the CCAC holds a coloring contest for youngsters. In keeping with the Kanawha City Lions Club sight conservation program, the show offers free glaucoma screening for adults and youngsters. The event serves as an annual fund-raiser for the Kanawha City Lions Club and the net
proceeds from the show play an important role in the work of the club and its dedication to help meet
the needs of charitable and service groups in the Greater Charleston Area.
